Goliath’s Might
Untitled
I clutched my courage, frail and bright,
A spark against a vast unknown.
The world loomed large, Goliath’s might,
While I stood small, but not alone.
My spirit, pebble-sized, took aim
At mountains built of doubt and fear.
The shot rang out but missed its claim
And echoed back, both far and near.
Did giants grow beyond my reach?
Or did I shrink from my own call?
The answer lies not in their breach
But in the rising after fall.
My pyrrhic sang a siren’s tune
Of limits drawn and dreams undone,
But in its notes I heard the moon
Whisper of battles yet unwon.
So once again I grasped at light,
A flame rekindled in the dark.
The world still towers, day and night,
But now I see my inner spark.
