Therefore

Therefore

I am,
Therefore I think.
Thoughts ripple like shadows on water,
Neither mine nor yours,
But echoes of all that has been.

I breathe,
Therefore I feel.
Not the air alone,
But the weight of tides
That pull at the edges of being.

I see,
Therefore I wonder.
The horizon stretches infinite,
A scrawny line that divides
What I know from what I hope to discover.

I move,
Therefore I change.
Each step erasing the one before,
Leaving behind whispers
Of roads unremembered.

I exist,
Therefore I become.
Not a moment,
But the endless unfolding
Of what could be.
